Rising Stars: Meet Bethany Peterson of North Carolina

Today we’d like to introduce you to Bethany Peterson.

Hi Bethany, we’d love for you to start by introducing yourself.
I started painting and making jewelry when I was a young girl. I always enjoyed it and just did it for fun at music festivals but 15 years later it’s still my favorite creative hobby that I hope to grow more and more throw the effort and projects and networking I find possible through social medias. I hope to get my projects into galleries sometime.

Photography has been my favorite hobby aka passion since I was 10 years old and I just happened to find it for work looking on indeed for it one random day and now it’s my career path I’ve dreamed for since I was a child.

I started my own modeling portfolio and networked my way around the country making profit since I was 20, using model mayhem. That flourished when I lived in New York City but I did start it in North Carolina. I’ve always been self managed/employed in that career field. I still do that occasionally but I need to be more remote for it.

I did have a terrible brain injury from a car wreck in 2018 so that really changed my path for a while
Otherwise I would be farther into the career fields at this point. But I’m happy, healthy, prosperous and vibrant. Always happy to share and advise others in the fields.

Would you say it’s been a smooth road, and if not what are some of the biggest challenges you’ve faced along the way?
Living in New York being a model for 7 years was extremely fun but very hard to maintain in a prosperous way at that point in my life. I struggled with sobriety and that’s really what the brain injury changed for me thanks to god.
However it hasn’t been an easy route even 8-9 years later I’m still “recovering” and to a degree.

Alright, so let’s switch gears a bit and talk business. What should we know about your work?
I’m a professional photographer for students at schools all over the state of NC and other states too. I love what I do and I’m also still making money
Modeling.

What quality or characteristic do you feel is most important to your success?
I believe I am very strong in a sense of adapting and growing. Patience in a key in that process as well. I’m also a very godly woman so I have morals and respect and love to go by every day.
