Rising Stars: Meet Brittany Webb

I started Britts Bikini and Swimwear as known as ‘BBSW’ April 20th, 2021. I’m an advocate for body positivity and I wanted to create something that expresses that!

I’m sure you wouldn’t say it’s been obstacle free, but so far would you say the journey have been a fairly smooth road?
So, starting out as an entrepreneur, it goes easy! You make your first couple of thousands and once you see that money you either invest more into your business or you spend it on things you barely need. When I made my first thousand within 24-Hours, I realized this is for me! Then once I kept spending more money and not investing into my business or putting money back (which is common starting out). I realized three thousand dollars plus, is not enough to sustain the lifestyle I would like to have. I would tell someone who is starting out to save your money! As a realist and an honest business owner, if you do not get an accountant or good with finances; you will set yourself back! Financial literacy is something that should be taught. I would recommend teaching yourself as an entrepreneur as many things as possible before going straight into it. But luckily, I got myself out of the hole. I would also recommend getting a safe or hire an accountant for future references. It will save you so much hassle and confusion! Also, have separate accounts. As for myself, I have an account for bills, personal expenses, savings, and my businesses.

Thanks – so what else should our readers know about your work and what you’re currently focused on?
I am a creative/content director, designer, CEO, and founder of Britts Bikini and Swimwear. I specialize in women/men swimwear and I am known for both swimwear and skin care.

I most proud of my growth as a woman and a business owner.

My creativity sets me a part from others! My swimwear is cut different and you cannot find them in your local clothing stores or online. I made sure to create swimwear that is not only minimalistic, but swimwear that is comfortable when you put it on. I also cater to men, so I have swim trunks that have different prints and are not snug.

So maybe we end on discussing what matters most to you and why?
Growth is what matters most to me. You water a plant to grown, so why not water yourself? Ten years ago, I was 16, I was not thinking about being an entrepreneur. My mindset was stuck on college and making my family happy. Until I realized that was not for me! When you grow up and start making your own life decisions; you realize what will be the best for you. Ten years later, I am now the owner of two businesses and I manage to make it work for me. I do not believe in stagnancy, that is a setback for you to grow in life!
