Rising Stars: Meet Cassie Adair Marsh

Today we’d like to introduce you to Cassie Adair Marsh. Them and their team share their story with us below:

In the year ’92 Cassie Adair Marsh was born in Pinehurst, NC, and raised in Moore County in a small town called Cameron. She was raised by two parents Abigail Kelly (mother) and Berry Brown (father). From birth until the age of five, Cassie was traveling with her grandmother the late Lucy Ann Matthews, and started singing at the age of seven.

Cassie’s first solo was performed at a program in Sanford, N.C. singing the hymn “Jesus Loves Me” held by her after-school care “Get Smart”. This song was the first song she learned and was taught by her late grandmother. After several years of singing in the church choir and being selected for solo something was still missing.

In September 2001, on a Sunday morning during the altar call, Cassie was led by the holy spirit to give her life to Christ wholeheartedly. From that day forward everything changed.

“I remember sitting in my room with a notebook trying to write a song, but nothing was flowing. However, as soon as I put my notebook away for another task started singing and that is when the lyrics would come to me, “Cassie says”. Cassie’s first song was written upstairs in her home. “I was a senior in high school, and I was laying on the floor on a school night and the melody came to my mind.

I knew I couldn’t forget this particular piece as the lyrics came to me, I had to write it down right away. (Cassie)

In 2011, I began to finish writing “Let God In” and I sang it almost every day. Finally, during Cassie’s college years her sophomore year, she started a singing group called “Unlimited”. At North Carolina Central University in the late fall of 2014 is when her first single “Let God In” was released on all media music streams. “I was very excited, but remained quiet to see all the responses of something awesome God gave me that I am now giving to others.”

(Cassie) By May “2016” Cassie graduated from North Carolina Central University with a mind to continue pursuing her music, youth ministry, as well as growing in her music fraternity “Sigma Alpha Iota”.

She enjoys teaching youth and being an inspiration to others spiritually and sharing her gifts with others musically.

We all face challenges, but looking back would you describe it as a relatively smooth road?
Life is definitely a journey no walk in the park. Sometimes my area of weakness shows up when I am around people who think the opposite of me.

This can be a good thing so that you can truly see what you need more or less identifying yourself in the mirror and accepting the real you. Not everyone will accept the real you and you have to be ok with that as well as get to know the awesome individual you are away from people.

When it comes to Business family does not mix and sometimes some friends may not be necessary. Anyone, you tell your vision to be sure that they are not vision killers (individuals who talk negative or against your plan of action/goals) cover and protect your vision everyone will not understand it because the vision was not for them it was given to you.

Thanks for sharing that. So, maybe next you can tell us a bit more about your work?
I am a local gospel artist located in Raleigh, NC. I am known to travel and record music as well as write music (songwriter). I am an inspiring harpist learning to master as a musician under the lead of my mentors locally.

I am inspired to create and help others express themselves freely through the universal language of music. In Wake County, I am a navigator with Legal Aid of NC helping individuals obtain health insurance through the marketplace.

Sometimes when I get the chance, I also help families who need assistance in the community with children who are on the spectrum for Autism which I have been heavily involved for over 4 years.

So, before we go, how can our readers or others connect or collaborate with you? How can they support you?
