Rising Stars: Meet Cody Hamilton of Raleigh

Today we’d like to introduce you to Cody Hamilton.

Cody, we appreciate you taking the time to share your story with us today. Where does your story begin?
My name is Cody Hamilton born and raised in Raleigh, North Carolina. I have been doing photography, recreationally and professionally, for 10 years now. I received my certificate for photography from Living Arts College in 2016. During my last few months of attending, I entered the Advertising Awards, and won 2 Gold awards, a Bronze award and won Best In Show as a student. Since then, my work has been published twice by local Raleigh magazines and I have done shoots for various organizations and churches. Apart from my physical awards, photography is my passion and God given gift that I love to share with others. Although I am still growing professionally and creatively, I have done numerous gigs from different backgrounds and always looking to expand my portfolio.

We all face challenges, but looking back would you describe it as a relatively smooth road?
It has not been an easy journey and the journey is far from over. But I had put my business on the back burner for several years while trying to get things in order, between losing loved ones and gaining 2 loved ones as well, I had to lost my focus but now I am back on the grind!

Can you tell our readers more about what you do and what you think sets you apart from others?
I brand myself as a Natural Light Christian Photographer. What that means to me is that I thrive using God’s given light with my God given gift to create my work.

What does success mean to you?
Success to me means being able to provide for you and your family doing what you most enjoy. I don’t believe success is just status or money. Rather a joy filled life doing what makes you happy.
