Rising Stars: Meet Daniel Morgan

Today we’d like to introduce you to Daniel Morgan.

Daniel, we appreciate you taking the time to share your story with us today. Where does your story begin?
My name is Daniel James Morgan. I am a college student studying Exercise Physiology at East Carolina University, with hopes of eventually becoming a Physical Therapist. Throughout my entire life, I have always had an interest in photography. I started out taking pictures with my iPod Touch when I was 8. When I was 12, my father gave me my first camera – a Nikon D90, which he never really used.

During my time at Millbrook High School, I served as the self-appointed “student photographer.” I shot everything from sports to school plays to graduation ceremonies. These experiences solidified my passion for photography and for serving others. I love to serve the people around me, so it doesn’t feel like a job. I love what I do, even if it is not a full-time job. Maybe, that’s why it’s so good for me.

Today, I use a Nikon D500. I primarily shoot families, seniors, and local businesses. I serve the communities located in Raleigh, Greenville, Wake Forest, and Louisburg, North Carolina.

Can you talk to us a bit about the challenges and lessons you’ve learned along the way? Looking back would you say it’s been easy or smooth in retrospect?
For me, the hardest thing about being a photographer is finding people to take pictures of. I started my business by shooting family members and family friends. Once I grew beyond my close circle, it became harder to find clients.

Thanks – so what else should our readers know about your work and what you’re currently focused on?
I photograph families, seniors, and local businesses. I ensure that every client is happy with my work before I say that the job is complete. I am not satisfied otherwise.

What sort of changes are you expecting over the next 5-10 years?
I see my business growing and becoming a staple for clients in Raleigh, Wake Forest, and surrounding areas.
