Rising Stars: Meet Darius Godwin

Today we’d like to introduce you to Darius Godwin.

Hi Darius, we’re thrilled to have a chance to learn your story today. So, before we get into specifics, maybe you can briefly walk us through how you got to where you are today?
My story is one that starts with a mindset for greatness, a relentless grind, and a plan to overcome any challenges to achieve my goals. As a native of Charlotte, NC, my parents instilled in me a mindset for hardwork, discipline, and delayed gratification. During my high school days, I would often pick up odd jobs, such as neighborhood lawn care service, mailbox painting, car detailing, and more. The hustler mentality was deeply rooted early on.

After attending NC State University in Raleigh, NC, graduating in 4 years with a degree in Business Administration and Information systems, I had the chance to step out into the real world and face adulthood. This led me to pursue my first corporate position in Indianapolis, Indiana, where it was my first experience in the Midwest. Utilizing my technology background and an ambitious attitude I was ready to take on a risk for a new environment and experience. This is when I first had to face the realities of true independence.

In 2012, about a year after college and into the corporate world, my ambition for financial literacy and financial freedom was sparked by efforts to rise above the check-to-check living lifestyle and eliminate debt. This is where I started my first real budget and brought my hustle mentality back into full effect. I launched my first LLC for fitness training, King Bear LLC (formerly known as S.P.A.X. Sports Performance), to utilize my fitness background to bring in additional income and pay off debt faster.

Fast forward to 2020, I achieved debt freedom through self-taught financial management, budgeting, and growing a successful business over time. This success ignited a desire in me to teach others how to achieve the same success in their own journey of finances and entrepreneurship.

2015 offered me the opportunity to return to the South where I am now a return resident North Carolina. This change has given me the opportunity to expand the vision of King Bear LLC, where I empower others through strategies for financial freedom, investing, and life motivation. I have been blessed to work with hundreds of young professionals to teach them the foundations of budgeting, the benefits of financial stewardship, and how to eliminate debt and begin investing for their future.

Recently, I launched several courses and eBooks that have assisted young professionals to have success in eliminating debt, starting successful vending businesses, and learning to grow passive income. I’m thankful to have the opportunity to provide value to others that empowers them for success in their life’s journey.

I’m sure you wouldn’t say it’s been obstacle-free, but so far would you say the journey has been a fairly smooth road?
It was not a smooth road, but I am thankful for the lessons and the challenges that provided the growth necessary to achieve success. Learning so much about myself and others through the process only added value to what and how I can teach others to accomplish the same in their lives.

Some of the challenges I faced on this journey were managing the sacrifices necessary to achieve milestones, growing my mindset to create new habits that aligned with my goals, and having to eliminate negative relationships that were not healthy for my success. I am thankful to have gained wisdom from the lessons learned, which have propelled me forward.

Alright, so let’s switch gears a bit and talk business. What should we know about your work?
I like to call myself somewhat of a Corporate Beast and Entrepreneur. I truly believe in utilizing success in the corporate environment to fuel the building of the empire for your ideas and passion.

As a systems and network engineer, I have been able to continue to grow a successful career in IT since 2011. Doing this all while building King Bear LLC has been an enjoyable journey.

Outside of the IT profession, I work through King Bear LLC to specialize in the following:

*Built a vending business empire from the ground up achieving an ROI of 185% in the first 6 months of business.
*Launching live classes and courses teaching others how to start successful and profitable vending business ventures.
*Launching King Bear Fitness which is an online personal training app where I assist clients of all backgrounds to achieve success in their fitness and health lifestyle.
*Building a financial literacy and debt freedom-based community in the Money Beast community. Teaching young professionals how to build a financial plan for success and grow from debt reduction to investing for wealth through passive income strategies.

I take pride most in my ability to be versatile while still effective in assisting others with tips, strategies, and plans to achieve their goals. More notably, I separate myself from others in that I provide everyone with real-life experience and value.

I don’t believe in giving out advice that I have not experienced in my own journey. I refuse to create an unrealistic perspective of what it takes to achieve your goals and I am passionate about showing people that it takes strategic action and discipline to make it happen.

What’s next?
My current plans for the future involve growing the empire through investing and continuing to provide real value to empower others.

I am currently on the hunt for acquiring existing operating businesses and working to launch the business acquisitions initiative for King Bear LLC.

As for the brand, I am continuing to work on more in-depth on-demand and live courses involving topics such as passive income strategies, business development, and growing wealth through smart money management.
