Today we’d like to introduce you to Denee/fitz Guerna
Hi Denee/Fitz, we’re thrilled to have a chance to learn your story today. So, before we get into specifics, maybe you can briefly walk us through how you got to where you are today?
My husband, Fitz, and i , Denee are business owners outside of the U.S. We desired to be business owners here in the U.S; home.
My husband was obsessed with the idea of exploring the food/restaurant industry. We came across these unique food trucks that were curated in Argentina; the attraction is to die for. We juggled with the idea of coffee, gelato, tacos, Italian ices , and so much more. But why not start something that RDU has never seen ?
we travel a lot , and came across cereal infused ice cream ; popular in a few places such as NYC, Miami, Paris.
with that CREAMED [cereal infused ice cream] was born; RDU’s first cereal infused ice cream shop.
we have 2 food trucks . a blue one based in crabtree valley mall and a green one that we use for private events and local events. these two trucks is our 2 sons. so they are really the owners and Fitz and I ar their workers (laugh out loud).
we are now a little over a year old.
the crabtree mall family love us , our supporters love us. We also inspired a few other business owners to invest in an unique truck like ours.
we appreciate the support and look forward to expanding real soon.
We all face challenges, but looking back would you describe it as a relatively smooth road?
business has been great and i dont think any business has a smooth road.
we operate out of a food truck in the middle of a mall.
that food truck still operates as a normal food truck. so we do have the hassle of constantly dumping dirty water, refilling with clean water , and all the normal duties of operating out of a food truck.
As you know, we’re big fans of you and your work. For our readers who might not be as familiar what can you tell them about what you do?
my husband and i own a plastic surgery consulting agency here in the states which correlates to our recovery home we own over in cali colombia. we’ve been doing that for about 7 years.
the world of ice cream is all new to us and we are happy we jumped out on a leap of faith .
we can now add food truck/ ice cream shop owners .
we specialize in cereal infused ice cream specifically.
Our ice cream goodies are carefully crafted to bring joy with every bite. We are dedicated to serving our customers with the best tasting ice cream, infused with the sweet and nostalgic flavors of your favorite childhood cereal. Networking and finding a mentor can have such a positive impact on one’s life and career. Any advice?
We’ve never had a mentor but i don’t think its a bad idea.
networking is always a good idea. networking can get you into doors you’ve never stepped foot in.
our locations our biggest networking tool. its a perfect location.
we attraction customers from all over the RDU.
other than our everyday customers we’ve had other restaurant, dessert shop, and toy store owners who wish to collab. we’ve had realtors that stop by and want to assist with finding brick and mortar; most of our private events is booked by those who stop by the food truck.
