Rising Stars: Meet Jason Hall

Today we’d like to introduce you to Jason Hall.

Hi Jason, can you start by introducing yourself? We’d love to learn more about how you got to where you are today?
My wife was always admiring my artwork and carpentry skills. So she said let’s start a business to see if others appreciate your work. Hence EpicwoodworX LLC was created. We have grown slowly over the years and shipped pieces all over the world even as far as Australia.

Our work consists of hand-made and hand-painted products such as retirement pieces, oversized scrabble letters, furniture, 3D flags, and much more. We’d like to say “If you can dream it… we will create it.”Through our process, Covid-19 has put a huge strain on our business, but with hard work and our willingness to work together, we are moving forward.

We have new equipment coming toward the end of the summer that will allow us to create even more personalized products on a whole new scale.

Would you say it’s been a smooth road, and if not what are some of the biggest challenges you’ve faced along the way?
Some of the struggles have been to get our name out there. Also finding out what people like so we could show them what we are capable of.

I personally had to medically retire from the fire service due to an injury. This event has put a heavy toll on us. We are also feeling the effects of the economy.

Supplies are scarce at times and the cost of goods is high, but we are putting our best foot forward to help the economy in our community as much as we can. We most definitely have not lost sight of where we have come from and where we can go.

Alright, so let’s switch gears a bit and talk business. What should we know about your work?
We make handmade and hand-painted products.

The majority of our pieces are completely custom. The process starts with a concept or discussion then we make it come to life. We specialize in many aspects but the main one is taking an idea or a vision and making it a reality. I’m most proud of what my wife and I have created together.

Also showing our children anything can happen if you work hard for it. I believe what sets us apart is the ability to build a product and then incorporate hand-painted components that make each piece special.

What was your favorite childhood memory?
My greatest childhood memories are working with my grandfather and learning the ends and outs of tools and how they work. He also taught me how to apply those skills that I learned and use them in my everyday life.

Be hands-on and always try to do your best at everything you do.
