Rising Stars: Meet Justice Lawrence

Today we’d like to introduce you to Justice Lawrence.

Hi Justice, we’re thrilled to have a chance to learn your story today. So, before we get into specifics, maybe you can briefly walk us through how you got to where you are today?
Originally born in Brooklyn, New York, and raised in Queens, I grew up and sparked my barber career in Raleigh, North Carolina.

I began barbering at an early age with now over 10+ years of experience while becoming officially licensed 4 years ago. On the scale I land Somewhere in between Artist and Entrepreneur, barbering gives me the opportunity and freedom to be creative with my haircutting and also the videos that I film and edit to display my work. Taking another step to also display my entrepreneurial side expanding my marketing, social, and business skills to expand my brand and craft.

I currently own a cordless hair clipper/trimmer business called Icecutterspro (Icecutterspro.com ) based out of Raleigh, NC. I sell products on consignment at 3 stores in Raleigh and currently an online store looking to expand worldwide.

I’m sure you wouldn’t say it’s been obstacle free, but so far would you say the journey has been a fairly smooth road?
Your usual hustle of starting a company, sacrificing time, energy, and funds for the expansion of my brand.

Dropping out of college, paying my way through barber school while having 2 jobs and a side hustle at the age of 20. While also Managing and maintaining a property with tenants at night while going through the process of reaching 1,528 recorded hours to graduate barber school.

Then wholesaling barber tools and Designing the products and around my brand and website so they will be appealing to consumers. I’m currently backing that by putting strategic action behind marketing online and networking in person around the city of Raleigh by attending barber expositions or any event that will allow vendors!

Alright, so let’s switch gears a bit and talk business. What should we know about your work?
I’ve been told I’m artistic and that is my drive, the ability to create and express. I love to cut hair and transform people’s image that adds a battery in their backs. It’s the closest service I’m involved with that incorporates art and that I feel touches people’s lives.

I take action on my visions, and I’m not afraid to be wrong. I believe some mistakes can be your greatest creations and that’s what sets me apart, always being able to push forward with the resources at hand.

I also make music, privately allowing friends and family to listen. On the entrepreneurial side, I own a hair clipper and trimmer business called Icecutterspro, it’s only been in operation 8 months but I’ve been able to sell 70 + tools while also having my tools on consignment in 3 businesses in Raleigh, NC.
