Rising Stars: Meet King Moe of Raleigh, NC

Today we’d like to introduce you to King Moe

Hi King, thanks for joining us today. We’d love for you to start by introducing yourself.
Started out hustling ending up balling! Nah seriously the struggle was real but the glory lasts forever. I started out as the poorest kid on the earth. Now I’m a man, that has found wealth in health and spirit. My father rapped, so naturally I took a liking to the sport. I never had to figure out who or what I wanted to be in life. I just always was, ya know? Funny story. I knew I was special when I wrote a Mother’s Day poem in 7th grade. One of the kids took credit for my work and rewarded everyone in the class but because I had to leave class I didn’t receive anything. I really wanted those cookies. I recorded my first song at the tender age of 11 same age I landed a deal with a local label in Wayne County, NC called “All Out War Records”. Since then I never looked back I’ve been school for music production in Los Angeles, worked with some of the greatest artists in Hip-hop, been on billboard charts, and has garnered millions of streams in the process.

Would you say it’s been a smooth road, and if not what are some of the biggest challenges you’ve faced along the way?
The main struggles were balancing family, career and my bank account. It costs to be in this business sometimes you got to pay to play but every time relationships are worth more than money. I carry the world on my back so in reality I’m just a juggling act that never drops the ball.

Appreciate you sharing that. What else should we know about what you do?
Well first and foremost I go by name of King Moe. I am artist/music producer. I specialize in songwriting, music is nothing more than arts expression of fantasy and reality. I’m most known for my hit single “TNS First”. Spacy produced the track and just recorded the vibe. That song has been viewed over 800 million times and it has been streamed 2 million times. I managed to gain a YouTube following of over 100,000 subscribers at the time of this interview and it’s still growing. Some may know from being part of the Ninja Punc my Music collective at one time. That’s a group of military musicians both active duty and veterans. Yes I used to be in the Army, no cap. Some may also know me for being associated with Shane Foster and Davis Chris. They gave me my first celebrity feature a guy by the name of Pastor Troy and I was on a collective album with the likes of Project Pat, Young Dolph (RIP), Yo-Gotti, and Beat King (RIP) as well. Some may also know me from being on popular public and social figure Topher’s album. I made it to billboard with both Topher and Davis Chris. I’m mostly proud of the fact I stayed in it through every era of rap since I’ve been making music. What sets me apart is my lyricism intertwined with melody. That along with my unique story is why I feel I’ll forever shine in my own lane.

Before we let you go, we’ve got to ask if you have any advice for those who are just starting out?
My only advice is keep your focus on your focus. Life is infinite and abundant however you only love it once. Don’t wait until you “Have it all together” start where you are and give it your all. Starting out the only thing I wish I knew was how much the God loved cause back then I didn’t understand.
