Rising Stars: Meet Kion Reddick of Greenville

Today we’d like to introduce you to Kion Reddick.

Hi Kion, we’d love for you to start by introducing yourself.
I started out writing poetry in school and making beats and battle rapping in school. I also sung in the choir and played the drums at church as a child, so I was always musically inclined. I recorded my 1st song in middle school. In High School Everyone just kept saying I was the chosen one, so I kept makin music and doing shows. Then it took off from there.

Singing can also be a great stress reliever; it releases endorphins and can boost your mood. Connecting with others through music—whether in a choir, a band, or just singing with friends—can foster a sense of community and belonging. Plus, the thrill of mastering a new song or improving your vocal skills can be very rewarding. Ultimately, singing can be a deeply personal and joyful experience that resonates on many levels. What aspects of singing do you enjoy the most?

Would you say it’s been a smooth road, and if not what are some of the biggest challenges you’ve faced along the way?
It has not been a smooth road. I have 3 kids and full custody of my son who has autism. So I had to learn how to balance everything in life.

Alright, so let’s switch gears a bit and talk business. What should we know about your work?
Im a Singer and songwriter who specializes in catchy hooks and melodies from low to high pitch sounds. I have a unique raspy sounding voice. I also come up with mostly all my music off the top of my head while in the studio.
Nobody can make versatile hooks from rnb to rap like Kion Reddick

Let’s talk about our city – what do you love? What do you not love?
what I like most about Raleigh is its vibrant blend of culture, nature, and innovation. The city offers beautiful parks and green spaces, like Pullen Park and William B. Umstead State Park, perfect for outdoor activities. The food scene is diverse, with a mix of Southern comfort food and international cuisine. Plus, the presence of universities and tech companies fosters a dynamic atmosphere full of creativity and intellectual growth. Whether it’s exploring the art galleries, attending local festivals, or simply enjoying the friendly community vibe, Raleigh has something for everyone.

What I dont like about Raleigh is the fact we could make it further if we stuck together more.
