Today we’d like to introduce you to Lori Beckwith.
Hi Lori, we’re thrilled to have a chance to learn your story today. So, before we get into specifics, maybe you can briefly walk us through how you got to where you are today?
My story started in 2020 when I lost my mother August 1, 2020, Photography has always been in my family as my dad did photography as I was growing up, but it became a huge part of my life after my mother passed away, she was my rock, my chevron for the accomplishments that I achieved she was my best friend. So I turned my journey to wildlife photography, the peacefulness and love of wildlife encouraged me to keep digging deeper into it and taught me patience is the key when it comes to the bears, alligators, raccoons and other wildlife. Just walking with nature and learning their ways, learning that it’s “their home not ours”. My journey has taught me so much of myself and how strong and patient I have grown into as a photographer. I have come a long way with my photography and I have met some amazing people along the way, people that have become family not just fellow photographers. I learn something new everyday. and I wouldn’t have it any other way. My journey will always bring me joy and happiness with my mom right by my side everyday, every Monet and every photo that I take.
Would you say it’s been a smooth road, and if not what are some of the biggest challenges you’ve faced along the way?
It defiantly hasn’t been a smooth road, a lot of falls, a lot of photo errors and a lot of ups and downs, but I continue to learn and challenge myself everyday.
Thanks – so what else should our readers know about your work and what you’re currently focused on?
Photography has become my passion, my heart and my time alone to reset, I spealize in bears mostly because their so amazing to watch and learn from, Im most proud of my journey of never giving up no matter what bumps I hit along the way. I feel like what sets me apart is the time I spend alone in nature and swill spend an hour to 5 hours just to get the “perfect shot”.
We’d love to hear about any fond memories you have from when you were growing up?
My favorite childhood memory would be watching my dad develop film from his camera and just being so proud of him in his journey.
