Hi Maggie, thanks for joining us today. We’d love for you to start by introducing yourself.
My wedding planning journey begun after falling in love with the wedding planning process as I planned my own wedding back in 2022. I loved the organization aspects as well as the creative outlet it gave me. Once my own wedding had come and gone, I prayed and asked God to show me my next steps, and Maggie Marsh Events was born! What originally started as a fun side hustle for me, steadily grew into the full time business that it is today.
We all face challenges, but looking back would you describe it as a relatively smooth road?
I don’t think any business owner would describe their journey as a smooth road (but if someone out there would, please tell me your tips and tricks haha). When I first launched Maggie Marsh Events, my first mission was to start booking clients so I could get hands on experience with planning weddings (outside of my own I planned). I always tell people that social media is key, so that’s what I used to get my name out there. After consistent posting, I started to book weddings and ended up having 15 weddings in the first year of MME (thank you God!!) Every wedding I plan comes with it’s unique challenges, but each challenge is an opportunity for me to learn and it gives me the tools to know how to handle it when that challenge arises again.
Alright, so let’s switch gears a bit and talk business. What should we know about your work?
I own Maggie Marsh Events, a full service wedding planning and event design firm. I offer three packages – Event Management, Partial Planning and Full Planning. I have a love for turning a couple’s vision into reality. I specialize in creating personalized, unforgettable experiences that blend style, tradition, and individuality. Whether it’s a classic, elegant affair or a modern, unique celebration, I work closely with each couple to ensure that every detail reflects their love story and the vision they have for their day.
I’m most proud of my ability to listen to my clients and understand their personalities, ensuring their wedding isn’t just a beautiful event, but a true reflection of them. From the smallest design elements to the big picture planning, I make sure the process is as smooth and enjoyable as possible, keeping stress at bay and allowing my couples to truly immerse themselves in the magic of the day.
What sets me apart is my ability to handle the logistics with seamless precision while maintaining a creative, innovative approach to each event. I am so blessed to have an amazing team of coordinators and assistants, and without them, wedding days would not be possible. It’s not just a one man show, that’s for sure. Maggie Marsh Events wouldn’t be where it is today without my team. We truly believe it’s all about the experience we create for the couple and their guests, not just the aesthetics. It’s about creating memories that last a lifetime.
I have a heart for Jesus and a love for serving others. I believe in the covenant of marriage and that the love of Jesus is best represented in how we love one another. The foundation of Christ is what I stand on, and as clients come my way it is an honor to pray for them on their journey to marriage,
Is there any advice you’d like to share with our readers who might just be starting out?
Honestly, just start!!! I knew that in order to wrap my mind around what goes into wedding planning and coordinating wedding days, I needed hands on experience. I reached out to a local wedding planner friend (Hannah Strickland) and asked if I could come and shadow her for a couple weddings. She was sweet enough to say yes, and those days were some of the best learning days for me. From there, I booked a couple of my own weddings and used the photos from those events to promote my business and get my name out there more.
