Rising Stars: Meet Mercedes Warburton of Other

Today we’d like to introduce you to Mercedes Warburton.

Hi Mercedes, so excited to have you with us today. What can you tell us about your story?
I started this business during my own spiritual journey. At the time, I was looking for crystals I could wear on my body as intentional reminders—something that would help keep me aligned with the direction I wanted my healing and spiritual path to move in. I was especially drawn to waist beads and similar pieces, but I couldn’t find anything accessible that matched what I was envisioning, either in Canada or online.

That gap is what led me to create my line of crystal-embedded jewelry under CÉDES Adorned. I realized that if I was searching for this and couldn’t find it, then other women on similar paths likely couldn’t either. I wanted to create something that felt personal, intentional, and accessible for people navigating their own healing journeys.

On a deeper level, this work also became part of my own self-discovery. Wearing waist beads and intentional crystal pieces helped me shift into a space of self-adornment that wasn’t about anyone else—it was about reconnecting with myself and feeling comfortable in my own skin.

What I’ve come to understand is that healing isn’t linear, and it doesn’t look the same for everyone. Because of that, I wanted my work to meet people where they are. Each piece is created with intention, so it can support someone in their own unique energetic and spiritual process—whatever that looks like for them.

This journey has now brought me to the creation of CÉDES Adorned as it exists today—a brand that allows me to share intentional, custom crystal-embedded jewelry with others who are on their own path of healing and self-discovery. What started as something deeply personal has grown into a way for me to connect with women in real life, through pop-ups and direct interactions, and to offer pieces that support people in staying grounded, present, and aligned in their own journeys.

At its core, this business is about more than jewelry. It’s about remembrance, self-connection, and offering people something tangible they can use as part of their own healing process.

Can you talk to us a bit about the challenges and lessons you’ve learned along the way. Looking back would you say it’s been easy or smooth in retrospect?
It hasn’t been a completely smooth road. One of the biggest challenges has been building everything on my own. There’s something very humbling about realizing you can’t do every part of a business by yourself, especially in the beginning.

Time, resources, and finances have also been ongoing challenges. When you’re self-funding your own business while also managing your day-to-day responsibilities and livelihood, it can become overwhelming at times. There are moments where you have to make careful decisions about where to invest, and that can slow things down or create setbacks along the way.

What has made a real difference, though, is support. Having the right people in your corner—whether emotionally, practically, or creatively—can completely shift how things unfold. It reminds you that while the vision may start with you, you’re not meant to carry everything alone.

Overall, the journey has been a mix of learning, adjusting, and growing into what it truly takes to build something from the ground up.

Thanks for sharing that. So, maybe next you can tell us a bit more about your work?
I create intentional, custom crystal-embedded jewelry through my brand, CÉDES Adorned. I specialize in waist beads, crystal bralettes, and bracelets that are designed to be more than adornment—they are wearable reminders for self-connection, healing, and alignment.

What I’m known for is creating custom pieces that blend spirituality with everyday wear in a way that feels personal, intentional, and accessible. Each piece is made with the understanding that healing is not one-size-fits-all, so the work is meant to meet people exactly where they are in their own journey.

What I’m most proud of is how this work has grown from something deeply personal into something that resonates with others. Being able to create custom pieces for people and see how they connect with them in their own unique way has been incredibly meaningful. I’m also proud of building something from the ground up—especially in moments where I had to rely on my own vision, resilience, and faith in the process.

What sets my work apart is the intention and customization behind it. This isn’t just jewelry—it’s energetic, symbolic, and created specifically for the individual it’s intended for. Every custom piece is made with purpose, and the focus is always on helping people feel more connected to themselves in a tangible, wearable way.

Are there any important lessons you’ve learned that you can share with us?
My most important lesson along the way has been learning to do it anyway—do it scared, do it unsure, do it tired, do it intimidated, just do it. I’ve learned that confidence doesn’t always come first, and waiting until everything feels perfect or comfortable often means never starting at all. A lot of growth has come from choosing action over fear.

From there, I’ve also learned that I can’t do everything alone, and I’m not meant to. In the beginning, I tried to carry every part of the business myself—creatively, financially, and operationally—and while that taught me a lot, it also showed me the importance of support, structure, and allowing space for help.

I’ve also come to understand that building something meaningful takes time, patience, and consistency, especially when you’re self-funding and learning as you go. There are moments of delay, redirection, and adjustment, but none of it is wasted—it’s all part of the process.

Overall, the biggest lesson has been learning to pivot and move forward even when I don’t feel fully ready, and trusting that clarity and confidence develop through action.
