Rising Stars: Meet Natresha Moore of Raleigh

Today we’d like to introduce you to Natresha Moore

Hi Natresha, thanks for joining us today. We’d love for you to start by introducing yourself.
I’m Natresha, licensed cosmetologist and owner of Natresha Glam U. I obtained certification through the Aveda Institute, & began behind the chair servicing all hair types. Hair services initially ranged from kid styles, protective styling as well as color and extensions. From home based, salon, & salon suite I have worked and adapted in different hair settings.
Over time that has shifted. With God first, I have furthered my education and training with internationally renowned brands, mentors and coaches. Doing so allowed me to have magazine features, awards, and partnerships.
My time behind the chair will always cater to hair care first, and providing looks such as extensions, blow outs and color techniques like Balayage.

Currently I also provide services throughout NC for bridal styling and special events. I travel to several states for bridal, and sometimes on-site work for commercials, hair trade shows like Premiere and IBS.

Would you say it’s been a smooth road, and if not what are some of the biggest challenges you’ve faced along the way?
The journey hasn’t necessarily been a struggle because of the love I have for the beauty industry, however it has required work. Work that comes with long days at times, peaks and valleys, and life happening. I’m big on my faith and God has kept me guided every step of the way.

Thanks – so what else should our readers know about your work and what you’re currently focused on?
I’m an entrepreneur with a beauty business that caters to bringing out the inner beauty of self. Creating a space that promotes feeling glamorous, ambitious and motivated. I’m known for creating beautiful hair looks behind the chair or for special events. My specialty in the chair is hair care and extensions. When I’m providing services for events it’s more focus on styling and the overall beauty look.
What sets me apart is my knowledge and versatility to cater to all hair types with efficiency.
I am most proud of myself for never giving up and allowing each goal I hit be a testimony to how God is forever true in blessing you for your faith and work.

Before we let you go, we’ve got to ask if you have any advice for those who are just starting out?
Something I wish I knew when I started out was the many avenues you can go into within the beauty industry. Many people know of working in home or salon but it’s really bigger than that. So my advice to anyone starting out is research every avenue and dare to go for it. Everyone will not be “viral” or “popular” & that’s okay. Set yourself apart vs fitting into some of the norms. Whatever path chosen, commit to it.
