Rising Stars: Meet Nyisha Rogers

Today we’d like to introduce you to Nyisha Rogers.

Hi Nyisha, we’d love for you to start by introducing yourself.
I’m very different from your average coach and very similar all at once. My professional background is rooted in the helping profession. I have a Bachelor of Science in Criminal Justice and a Master of Social Work degree. Initially, in my professional journey, I had the typical vision of working very hard to obtain a gainful tenure. While advancing in my career in counseling and social work, I grew a passion for helping individuals recognize their personal barriers to improving overall functioning and goal accomplishments.

During this manifestation as a counselor, I have been able to witness the growth of Black female-owned businesses across the nation. While carrying out my due diligence as a counselor, I saw so many women take strides towards growing their businesses. I used my solution-focused approach to explore barriers and recognize what is inspirational and motivational to specifically women of color in business. This all leads to my idea for “Queen Savage the Planner”.

As a self-starter and planner by nature, I wanted to create a tool that would be interactive and appropriate to help women entrepreneurs set goals and plan their businesses. Queen Savage the Brand also offers success coaching services. As Black female entrepreneurs, we often face barriers that can be internal and external. For many up and coming business owners, the initial steps are the most difficult. Queen Savage The Brand can help you develop the confidence and skills to break down all barriers and influence growth and longevity towards your entrepreneurial goals.

We all face challenges, but looking back would you describe it as a relatively smooth road?
Entrepreneurship is not easy by far. One of the things that I struggled with in the beginning is my image. If you notice most success/life coaches have like this super professional demeanor. They all come with this cookie-cutter profile (no shade) and they speak with the highest level of intellect. Now don’t get me wrong, I can be that… that’s exactly who I am in my 9-5, however that’s not authentically me and I wanted my business to truly represent me. Also, four months after starting my business, I lose someone very close to me. My son’s father Andrew passed away unexpectedly. It was really hard, it still is. He was the first person I told my business Idea, he gave me endless support and encouraging words. I lose my motivation while dealing with the grief and to be completely transparent, I’m continuously trying to push through.

Appreciate you sharing that. What else should we know about what you do?
I create business tools to help females entrepreneurs increase confidence and motivation in business “Queen Savage The Planner”, “Savage Affirmation Journal”. I also create valuable content surrounding confidence, mindset, and motivation. My Instagram handle is @queensavagethebrand. My brand is well known for my “Reel” videos. I’m really proud of my ability to motivate others via content. I’ve built so many meaningful relationships through my Instagram, so many ladies have expressed how my content has been motivational for them. I absolutely love it! Content creation has also sparked my interest in ultimately adding “Content Creator” to my resume and learning more and more about social media marketing.

How do you think about luck?
I’ll be honest I’ve never seen myself as a “lucky person”. I’ve experienced great triumphs and hardships in my life. I guess you can say my strength and my ability to persevere is a “lucky quality” that I have.
