Today we’d like to introduce you to Precious Bradley.
Hi Precious, thanks for joining us today. We’d love for you to start by introducing yourself.
Many people ask me why did I become a doula. I’ve heard stories of people ushering in the next generation my whole life. I heard tales of when my great-grandmother would deliver babies in the neighborhood. My mother was the one in the family who could tell you you were pregnant and what you were going to have before you even knew or was still in denial… hiding it from close families and friends.
For me, personally, I decided to become a doula because of all the death I had experienced in my life. At a very young age, I was exposed to it, curious about it, and definitely feared it. I HATED IT! It was taking all the people I ever loved, leaving me not to even want to love again for fear of loss.
I decided to become a doula because I noticed I always watched death but never saw birth (physically). I thought psychologically it would balance the energies left behind from death. Every time I meet a new family they are so surprised by my excitement. I’m excited because I am truly honored to be a part of this most precious journey.
I get excited because I get to watch God in his purest form. I get to help families have the best birth experience, away from worries, discrimination, hatred, and all-around bad vibes! It is a blessing and the utmost honor to be a doula.
Alright, so let’s dig a little deeper into the story – has it been an easy path overall and if not, what were the challenges you’ve had to overcome?
Being an entrepreneur “ain’t been no crystal stair”. First I had to build my infrastructure while still working a full-time job. I had to build capital and clientele, grow my audience and get the community to recognize me. Solidifying grants and learning about business and taxes, all have been challenges but necessary challenges.
Without those challenges, I wouldn’t be as knowledgeable as I am today. As a new full-time entrepreneur, I am learning even more from the new challenges I face every day.

How do you think about happiness?
Experiencing love makes me happy. Making other people happy makes me happy. I feel that service is my purpose here on earth. I am a product of abandonment and adoption. A lot of people had a hand in my upbringing. Paying it forward makes me happy.
Being in the community makes me happy. People living at the highest level of love make me happy because love is the highest frequency one could be at. And we as human beings thrive when we are acting and achieving at our highest level.
