Rising Stars: Meet Raven Fuller of North Raleigh

Today we’d like to introduce you to Raven Fuller.

Alright, so thank you so much for sharing your story and insight with our readers. To kick things off, can you tell us a bit about how you got started?
RavesofBeauty started from my natural love for people, energy, and expression—I’ve always been bubbly, camera-ready, and the type to strike up a conversation with anyone! Since middle school, I fell in love with makeup and fashion, using it as a way to express both confidence and creativity. If you’ve followed my journey on social media, you know I aspire to become a dermatologist and will be applying to medical school within the next year. My biggest motivation is my brother, who was diagnosed with Hidradenitis suppurativa (HS).

Can you talk to us a bit about the challenges and lessons you’ve learned along the way. Looking back would you say it’s been easy or smooth in retrospect?
It has not been a smooth road AT ALL!!! There have been days where I wanted to quit and throw in the towel. From getting hacked multiple times on my TikTok page after spending months strategizing and creating content, being stagnant on Instagram and being looked at funny for being plus sized. I’ve even had those who I’ve known for years to be unsupportive.

Alright, so let’s switch gears a bit and talk business. What should we know about your work?
I currently work in Clinical Research. I’m a STEM girlie! I’m proud of where I am now, because it took FOREVER for me to get into clinical research.

What matters most to you? Why?
God, my family/dog, my morals and giving back to my community.
