Rising Stars: Meet Ronkeia (Keia) Lewis

Today we’d like to introduce you to Ronkeia (Keia) Lewis

Hi Keia, can you start by introducing yourself? We’d love to learn more about how you got to where you are today?
I may not be a newbie to writing, but I still consider myself a novice when it comes to the journey of life. After taking a break from my first book, “Trust The Process,” I now have time to reevaluate my identity as both a writer and a person. While I jokingly refer to my introduction to writing as an accident, as I produce more ideas, I’ve come to believe that God intentionally created me for this purpose.

The process of creating my first book in 2022 was a period of self-discovery, as I learned to embrace my identity as a writer and creator, letting go of preconceived notions of who I thought I was supposed to be. Reintroducing my brand “Ohwrd” to the world has required time, commitment, and valuable lessons.

Initially, writing served as a way for me to decompress and capture my thoughts. I never expected the recognition and awards that have come with becoming an author. But once I recognized the power of my words and their impact on others, I decided to pursue writing more seriously. You never know whose life you may touch by sharing your journey.

I am intentional about ensuring that every book or product I release is authentic, because with great opportunity comes great responsibility. As I invite the world to witness my rediscovery of self, I am excited to share all that has been poured into me

We all face challenges, but looking back would you describe it as a relatively smooth road?
Achieving anything truly worthwhile often requires more than words can express – it demands unwavering action and dedication. Though life has thrown its fair share of obstacles, my faith has guided me through every challenge. Building a brand from scratch is no easy feat, and discovering one’s purpose within that journey is an adventure in itself. At times, we become so consumed by societal expectations that we forget to follow the beat of our own drum. As the saying goes, “Expectations are like fine pottery – the harder you hold them, the more likely they are to break.” It’s important to take breaks and recharge, as long as you ultimately return, renewed and ready to pursue your calling.

“Ohwrd” was created to empower individuals to find, follow, and fight for their God-given purpose. What some may perceive as a struggle, I view as an opportunity. After all, you can’t spell “Challenge” without “Change” – it’s crucial to be true to yourself, your gifts, and your message. One key lesson from my rebranding journey is that silence cannot be misquoted. During this process, people will make assumptions based on their perception of you, but the best approach is to trust the process and allow your work and commitment to speak for itself.

Can you tell our readers more about what you do and what you think sets you apart from others?
What started as a hobby of writing and speaking has evolved into a deeper calling, or “Why,” for me. While many talk about “finding their niche,” I believe my niche found me. Sharing my experiences and offering solutions through my writing has been immensely rewarding, beyond what I could have imagined. Writing, speaking, podcasting it seems like it never ends!

As a Christian writer, it has presented challenges, but my drive to reach all generations sets me apart. The topics I write about resonate with people of all ages, as I believe faith transcends age and is more about one’s posture.

I’m proud of the impact I’ve had in my local community and the response I’ve received worldwide. “Ohwrd” (OH-WORD) may be my brand, but it represents the Omnipotent, Healer, Worthy, Redeemer, and Deliverer I see at work in my life. The beauty is that this definition can evolve, as God is so multifaceted. I encourage you to define your own “why” and let it guide your path.

So maybe we end on discussing what matters most to you and why?
Authenticity means more to me than anything else. Often, we see people neglect their true selves in an effort to please others or conform to cultural norms. Every piece of work I create is birthed through prayer, not just my own ideas. Even the concepts I believe are strong, I take time to seek guidance on, to ensure they’re not driven by self-interest but by a desire to help others understand their journey better. Much of what I create stems from personal experience, which I cherish because no one can take that away. My focus is on being authentic to myself and figuring out how I can inspire others to do the same. I would be doing myself a disservice if I didn’t consider the lives I have the potential to impact by staying true to who I am at the core. While many believe success is a numbers game when it comes to content and products, in reality, quality consistently trumps quantity.

With new projects being released this year im just excited to share my gift with the world again. Stay tuned!
