Rising Stars: Meet Shannon Gilmore

Today we’d like to introduce you to Shannon Gilmore.

Hi Shannon, please kick things off for us with an introduction to yourself and your story. 
I worked as a paramedic for 20 years for a local EMS agency and was just wanting a different way to help people. I took my first Reiki one class and was instantly in love with a natural way to help people. I continued with my Reiki training until I was a Reiki master teacher. I also received certified in sound healing, as well as crystal healing. The next natural step was to open my own crystal shop and Reiki healing center. 

We all face challenges, but looking back, would you describe it as a relatively smooth road?
No, it has not been a smooth road at all, and that’s ok the struggle were lessons in disguise, and I have learned a lot along the way. When I first opened the shop, I had a business partner, and that only lasted about 3 months before we decided to split way. It’s was a trying time, however, I learned to have faith in myself and realized I can do it by myself with a little help from my friends and family as well. 

Thanks for sharing that. So, maybe next you can tell us a bit more about your work?
I am a Reiki Master Teacher and preform reiki healing as well as sound bath session. Reiki is a form of energy healing that has proven results for all types of issues. Reiki is great for stress reduction as well as remove blocked or stuck negative energy. I offer Reiki training in my shop as well as sessions. I am most proud of how far my shop has come on the year it has been open and all the new wonderful friendships I have formed within my community. What sets me apart from others is I spent a long time in emergency medicine, so I have an understanding traditional medicine as well as holistic healing. 

We love surprises, fun facts, and unexpected stories. Is there something you can share that might surprise us?
I have a rescue horse that I adore and show on a regular basis. My daughter also has a horse, and we love going to horse shows and competing against each other.
