Today we’d like to introduce you to Trey Da’Rula.
Hi Trey, I’m so excited to have you on the platform. Before we get into questions about your work life, you can bring our readers up to speed on your story and how you got to where you are today.
I’ve been a fan of professional wrestling since I was 6 years old. I was watching guys like Stone Cold, The Rock, Shawn Michaels, and my all-time favorite, Eddie Guerrero. I have home videos of me cheering for Eddie when I was a kid, and my love for wrestling never left. In March 2022, I decided to start my wrestling journey, and after researching wrestling schools, I chose to go to Firestar Pro Wrestling. I watched all of their YouTube videos and fell in love with the content they were producing! My trainer, LaBron Kozone, is one of the best in the business, and I wouldn’t be where I am today without him! Now, I am 2 years into the business and am on the right path. I want to entertain people while doing what I have loved since childhood.
We all face challenges, but looking back, would you describe it as a relatively smooth road?
It’s been a tough road. My training school, Firestar Pro Wrestling, is located in Greensboro, North Carolina, about an hour and a half away from where I live. I chose to pay for my training and make that hour-and-a-half drive 3 times a week to graduate. The professional wrestling business is advantageous but calls for much sacrifice. I was willing to make those sacrifices to join this fantastic business.
As you know, we’re big fans of you and your work. For our readers who might need to become more familiar with what you do, what can you tell them about what you do?
I am a professional wrestler called “The Top Shoota” Trey Da’Rula. Professional wrestling is a form of sports entertainment that showcases athletes’ agility, power, style, and athleticism. What sets me apart is that I don’t look like the stereotypical professional wrestler. I don’t have the big muscles or the height of a giant. I thrive on being a character in the ring and making fans feel the emotions I want them to feel.
What do you like best about our city? What do you like least?
I love Fayetteville because it’s a community that is all going through the same thing. Going to the same grocery stores and gas stations, so when someone from our city makes it big, it’s gratifying for the person and the whole town. Fayetteville can also be very dangerous; it’s not always sunshine and rainbows, but being safe is a quality I thrive on, and I’ve usually always felt secure in my city.
