Today we’d like to introduce you to Whitney Mangum.
Alright, so thank you so much for sharing your story and insight with our readers. To kick things off, can you tell us a bit about how you got started?
My journey into massage therapy began with a genuine passion for helping others feel better in their bodies. After having been involved in a pretty bad car crash in high school, I was in a lot of pain, acupuncture, chiropractic care along with massage therapy was what helped me start to heal my body, That event led me to study at GTCC in Greensboro, where I completed my training and became a licensed Neuromuscular Therapist.
With over four years of experience, I have built a reputation for my intuitive touch and dedication to my clients’ well-being. My approach blends relaxation with therapeutic techniques, allowing me to address pain and tension while creating a calming, restorative experience.
I believe everyone can benefit from massage therapy, its so much more then just physical there is the mental health benefit as well.
I am on a journey to continue to grow in my craft—pursuing new trainings, exploring different modalities, and even traveling to expand my knowledge and inspiration. What started as a simple desire to help people has grown into a full-fledged mission: to bring balance, relief, and mental clarity through the art of massage.
Would you say it’s been a smooth road, and if not what are some of the biggest challenges you’ve faced along the way?
Finding my style and perfecting my craft in a busy growing industry, while still connecting to my clients individual needs has been a balancing act. I have had to learn that taking time to take care of myself is equally as important.
As you know, we’re big fans of you and your work. For our readers who might not be as familiar what can you tell them about what you do?
specialties include deep tissue therapy, neuromuscular techniques, and stress-relieving massage tailored to support women through menopause, active individuals, and clients with chronic pain or postural concerns. I strongly believe that the body and mind are incredibly connected, and when given the right modalities capable of amazing healing.
Looking ahead, I plan to further my education with advanced training in lymphatic drainage, craniosacral therapy, and trauma-informed care. I also have a passion for travel and hopes to explore healing practices from around the world — with the long-term goal of offering wellness retreats that integrate massage, mindfulness, and holistic self-care.
What are your plans for the future?
Expanding my knowledge, in the healing field of massage therapy there is endless opportunities to learn and grow. I look forward to seeing what I can accomplish over the next few years and how many people I can help.
