We’re looking forward to introducing you to Denisse Diaz . Check out our conversation below.
Good morning Denisse , it’s such a great way to kick off the day – I think our readers will love hearing your stories, experiences and about how you think about life and work. Let’s jump right in? What is something outside of work that is bringing you joy lately?
Coming home and seeing my family
Can you briefly introduce yourself and share what makes you or your brand unique?
My name is Denisse Díaz and I am the director of the Peruvian dance group Sangre de Campeón., and I run a Facebook page “Raleigh con los Peruanos” where we help our community stay informed and help new entrepreneurs get their business out there.
Thanks for sharing that. Would love to go back in time and hear about how your past might have impacted who you are today. Who were you before the world told you who you had to be?
I was a working mother who devoted herself fully to her family, putting aside her dreams, but without any regrets about her choice. I love my family!!
If you could say one kind thing to your younger self, what would it be?
I would tell her to never give up in the face of obstacles, that in life there is also great suffering but that will help her to come out stronger than before. , and learn to love yourself.
Next, maybe we can discuss some of your foundational philosophies and views? Whom do you admire for their character, not their power?
I will forever admire my grandmother, she was a woman full of humility and so much love to give. To my parents who instilled in me humble but true values in life.
Thank you so much for all of your openness so far. Maybe we can close with a future oriented question. When do you feel most at peace?
When I dance, I forget all the stress and feel at peace with myself.
