Story & Lesson Highlights with Latashia Renee of Wilmington

We recently had the chance to connect with Latashia Renee and have shared our conversation below.

Hi Latashia, thank you so much for joining us today. We’re thrilled to learn more about your journey, values and what you are currently working on. Let’s start with an ice breaker: What are you being called to do now, that you may have been afraid of before?
I’m being called to trust again. For so long, fear of betrayal and heartbreak caused me to pull back. But now, God is calling me to be bold, to be vulnerable, and to lead women in unmuting their own voices through my story.

Can you briefly introduce yourself and share what makes you or your brand unique?
Absolutely! I am Latashia Renee, the powerhouse behind the Unmute Her Collective. I help women drop the weight of silence and step into the spotlight of their own stories. My brand isn’t about playing small or being polite, it’s about ripping the tape off our mouths and reminding the world that our voices carry power.

Writing and publishing books, podcasting, hosting retreats, and coaching… I do it all with one mission: to make sure women have a safe space to unmute their message and share their story with the world!

Amazing, so let’s take a moment to go back in time. What part of you has served its purpose and must now be released?
The part of me that always felt the need to play small to keep others comfortable. That version of me served it’s purpose while I was in survival mode, but she cannot come with me into this next season. I am releasing the people pleaser, over-explainer, and the woman who second guessed her worth. What’s rising now is the UNMUTED me and baby, she’s bold, healed, and unapologetic!!!!

What did suffering teach you that success never could?
Suffering taught me resilience in a way success never could. Yeah, success can make you proud, but suffering makes you humble, compassionate, and hungry for purpose. It showed me that even in the darkest moments, God was still writing my story and that my scars would one day speak louder than any trophy ever could. Success didn’t teach me how to fight for my voice… suffering did!

I think our readers would appreciate hearing more about your values and what you think matters in life and career, etc. So our next question is along those lines. Is the public version of you the real you?
Listen, the public me is the real me! The only difference is, y’all don’t see me in my bonnet and oversized moo-moo! LOL! Other than that, what you see is what you get!

Thank you so much for all of your openness so far. Maybe we can close with a future oriented question. What will you regret not doing?
I will NEVER regret telling the truth! If it shook the room, then maybe the room needed shaking! Period.
