Story & Lesson Highlights with Sheree Rabinovich of Charlotte

We’re looking forward to introducing you to Sheree Rabinovich. Check out our conversation below.

Sheree, really appreciate you sharing your stories and insights with us. The world would have so much more understanding and empathy if we all were a bit more open about our stories and how they have helped shaped our journey and worldview. Let’s jump in with a fun one: What is a normal day like for you right now?
These days, life revolves around preparing for the arrival of our first son – he’s due in late August, and my husband and I are soaking in every moment before our world changes in the most beautiful way. I’ve been enjoying the experience of pregnancy, getting our home ready for him, and cherishing the final weeks of it being just the two of us. After nearly 15 years together, & it being just the two of us, it’s a big shift – but one we’re so excited for.

Can you briefly introduce yourself and share what makes you or your brand unique?
I own and operate Sheree Taylor Photography, where I specialize in portrait and wedding photography – documenting life’s most meaningful moments, both big and beautifully small. From family sessions, maternity, and newborn shoots to graduations, pregnancy announcements, weddings, couple’s portraits, and “just because” sessions, I consider it a true honor to capture the chapters of someone’s story. My greatest goal is to preserve the genuine essence of whatever is being celebrated and to ensure every client feels completely at ease in front of the camera. These are the memories they’ll cherish for a lifetime, and I’m grateful to play a small role in that.

Appreciate your sharing that. Let’s talk about your life, growing up and some of topics and learnings around that. Who saw you clearly before you could see yourself?
My husband definitely saw me clearly before I ever saw myself. I’ve shed many skins to become who I am today, and through it all, he seemed to recognize the potential beneath it all. He believed in me when no one else did, including myself, and constantly pushed me to grow into the best version of who I could be. So much of what I have in my life today is because of his unwavering support. He’s not only my biggest cheerleader but also my business partner, and I’m endlessly grateful for both.

What did suffering teach you that success never could?
Suffering has a way of revealing what we truly value. As humans, we often overlook the good in our lives, until something difficult or painful shifts our perspective. In those moments, we begin to see things more clearly, often for what they really are. While hardship is never easy, it can bring unexpected clarity and even gratitude. Sometimes, it’s through the hardest moments that we recognize the beauty we once took for granted and are reminded of what truly matters most.

Sure, so let’s go deeper into your values and how you think. What are the biggest lies your industry tells itself?
Photography is an art – and not everyone is a photographer. It’s a deeply personal and subjective craft, with each artist bringing their own unique style, perspective, and way of telling a story. There’s no one “right” way to create, and that’s the beauty of it. There’s room for everyone in this space.

Okay, so let’s keep going with one more question that means a lot to us: If you knew you had 10 years left, what would you stop doing immediately?
If I could give one piece of advice, it would be to stop worrying about what others think. It’s not always easy, but letting go of that weight is incredibly freeing. When you stop living for the approval of others, you begin to see life with fresh eyes – more clearly, more joyfully. Do what makes you feel alive, and the right people will naturally find their way to you.
